Chelsea and BlueCo have already started searching for replacements for Enzo Maresca, following his recent departure, and they have now made contact to appoint a “fantastic” manager.
Maresca exits Stamford Bridge after breakdown in relations
Maresca’s departure has now been confirmed, following a breakdown in relations with the board, and Fabrizio Romano has stated BlueCo will waste no time when it comes to finding a successor.
While the relationship with the club’s hierarchy was an issue, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has detailed that BlueCo haven’t been impressed by how the Italian fared during the first half of the season.
Solhekol said: “The first reason? Results. They simply have not been good enough. Chelsea have won only one of their past seven Premier League games and they have dropped 20 points from winning positions in the league and Champions League this season.”
The board will be hoping the new manager can get more out of a squad that received heavy investment during the summer, and Chelsea have now made contact with Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior to see if he would be willing to take the job.

There is a belief that Rosenior is now ready to become manager of the Blues, given how he has fared in Ligue 1, and an approach has now been made, with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner not in the frame, according to David Ornstein.
"Fantastic" Rosenior could be ready to take over at Chelsea
The 41-year-old has made a name for himself in management over the past few years, starting at Derby County as an interim manager, before taking over at Hull City, and he received praise for the job he did at the MKM Stadium from journalist Bobbi Huyton.
Andrey Santos has also lauded the Strasbourg boss, saying: “I love working with him. All the players are excited by his commitment, his vision. Plus, the style he wants is perfect for me.
“He wants possession, to multiply passes to bother opponents, and he wants to win, that’s the most important thing.”

In his first season in Ligue 1, the Englishman achieved a seventh-placed finish, earning qualification to the Europa Conference League, and he is on track to do so again, with Strasbourg currently in seventh place.
As such, Rosenior could now be ready to take over at a club the size of Chelsea, and the fact he plays a possession-based style is a bonus, given that it is a similar way of playing to Maresca, so players may not take too much time to adjust.
