  In a season where president Enrique Cerezo has challenged Diego Simeone to win the treble, Atletico have been highly active in the transfer market, investing around €149m (£129m/$172m) in seven players. Key additions include USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso, defender Marc Pubill and winger Alex Baena, brought in to offset the departures of Rodrigo De Paul, Angel Correa and Saul.
