ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Making his competitive debut for the club, Frimpong was slipped through down the right-wing by Dominik Szoboszlai and chipped the ball into the penalty area. The cross, which looped over Dean Henderson in the Palace net, floated into the bottom left corner and put the Reds 2-1 up. Frimpong, who joined from the German club in the summer, will likely try and claim it and his former side were more than happy to indulge.

Mohamed Salah blazed over, Alexis Mac Allister had his effort saved and Palace missed just once to win the shootout 3-2. After their FA Cup victory over Manchester City at the end of last season, it marked yet another special Wembley day for Eagles fans.
